TNO

TNO stands for Nederlandse Organisatie voor Toegepast-natuurwetenschappelijk onderzoek (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research). TNO is an independent research organization. Together with universities, it has around 30 knowledge centers to develop expertise in selected fields, functioning as innovation hubs. The organization focuses on seven themes that hold a prominent place in the national and European innovation agendas:

JoHo WorldSupporter mission and vision:

JoHo wants to enable people and organizations to develop and work better together, and thereby contribute to a tolerant and sustainable world. Through physical and online platforms, it supports personal development and promote international cooperation is encouraged.

JoHo concept:

As a JoHo donor, member or insured, you provide support to the JoHo objectives. JoHo then supports you with tools, coaching and benefits in the areas of personal development and international activities.
JoHo's core services include: study support, competence development, coaching and insurance mediation when departure abroad.

Missie/visie/doelen

De missie van TNO is om mensen en kennis te verbinden om zo innovaties te creëren die de concurrentiekracht van bedrijven en het welzijn van de samenleving duurzaam versterken. TNO vindt doelgericht innoveren belangrijk en ontwikkelt kennis niet om de kennis, maar om de praktische toepassing ervan.

Duurzaam ondernemen
Duurzaamheid speelt een belangrijke rol binnen TNO. Niet alleen wordt er onderzoek over gedaan, intern is het ook een belangrijk thema. De organisatie richt zich op het energieverbruik, het reduceren van de impact van dienstreizen en duurzaam inkopen.

Internationale activiteiten
TNO heeft naast kantoren in Nederland ook kantoren in Brussel, Qatar, Japan, Canada en op Aruba. Het kantoor in Brussel is bijvoorbeeld een aanspreekpunt van TNO voor de Europese Unie. Het kantoor in Qatar dient als regionaal centrum voor projecten in het Midden-Oosten gericht op de olie- en gasindustrie. In Aruba ondersteunt TNO het land in haar ambitie om zo snel mogelijk over te gaan op een duurzame energievoorziening.

Opleidingsmogelijkheden
TNO biedt recent afgestudeerde (Master en PhD) een traineeship aan waarin je je kunt ontwikkelen binnen de organisatie. Je werkt als trainee drie periodes van acht maanden voor verschillende afdelingen. Daarnaast biedt men ambitieuze starters een Talent Development Programme aan. Hierin maak je in 3 à 4 jaar een versnelde ontwikkeling door en krijg je de mogelijkheid om verschillende rollen te verkennen.

Naast deze programma’s zijn er veel mogelijkheden om je binnen de organisatie te ontwikkelen. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn: congressen, opleidingen, workshops, coaching, intervisie, mentoring en functiewisseling.

Stagemogelijkheden
TNO is voortdurend op zoek naar stagiaires en afstudeerders, jaarlijks doen zo’n 400 studenten een opdracht bij TNO. Eenmaal per jaar wordt er een interactieve en informatieve middag voor alle stagiaires en afstudeerders georganiseerd.
