"In oktober 1994 nam een groepje moeders op Aruba het initiatief om een nieuwe Nederlandstalige school op te richten voor kinderen van 4 t/m 12 jaar. In augustus 2007 is de school uitgebreid met Peutergroep Prikichi waar tegenwoordig plaats is voor 30 peuters. Daarnaast is de stichting met ingang van augustus 2008 gestart met voortgezet onderwijs. In schooljaar 2012-2013 biedt het Schakel College het eerste tot en met het vijfde leerjaar aan van de leerstromen: MAVO / HAVO/ VWO voor 90 leerlingen."

Op dit moment vallen de volgende scholen onder de Stichting Onderwijs CombinA:

Schakel College

Het onderwijsprogramma is Nederlands georiënteerd met tevens aandacht voor het Arubaanse onderwijscurriculum. Daarnaast is het curriculum in het voortgezet onderwijs uitgebreid met het Cambridge Programma voor de Engelse taal. Het onderwijs van de stichting biedt hierdoor een goede aansluiting op zowel het onderwijs in Nederland, Aruba als het internationale onderwijs.

De scholen zijn aangesloten bij Stichting Nederlands Onderwijs in het Buitenland en vallen onder het toezicht van de Nederlandse onderwijsinspectie.

Internships

Mogelijkheden: Elk jaar zijn er stageplekken voor PABO, IPA, SPW, EPI, CIOS of ALO-studenten bij een van de scholen op Aruba.
Hoe te solliciteren:
- Stuur een uitgebreide persoonsbeschrijving en een cv met een recente foto
- Vermeld de periode (min. 3 maanden) waarin je stage wilt lopen (1e helft: september- januari, 2e helft: februari - juli)
- Geef aan wat je beweegredenen zijn, wat je van je stageplek verwacht en indien van toepassing, je groepsvoorkeur, studietaken en opdrachten
