Word gastgezin voor een buitenlandse scholier tijdens zijn/haar internationale uitwisselingsprogramma

Je kunt je als gastgezin aanmelden en voor een hele schooljaar of een semester zorg dragen voor een internationale scholier. Vooral als je zelf kinderen hebt, is dit een bijzondere ervaring voor het hele gezin, waarbij zowel het gastgezin als de uitwisselingsstudent een bredere kijk op de wereld krijgen; culturele verschillen ontdekken en taalbarrières leren te overbruggen.
De leerlingen die naar Nederland komen, komen uit allerlei verschillende landen uit Europa, Azië, Noord- en Zuid-Amerika, Afrika en Oceanië. Deze studenten zijn tussen de 15-18 jaar oud.

Een andere cultuur en taal leren kennen zonder weg te gaan van huis.

Wat neem je mee?

Je hebt een kamer beschikbaar voor de scholier.
Je bent bereid om te zorgen voor een internationale scholier alsof het je eigen kind is.
Je moet zorgen dat de scholier ingeschreven komt te staan bij een lokale middelbare school.

Youth for Understanding (YFU)

Youth for Understanding (YFU) is een grotendeels non-profit organisatie die jongeren al 70 jaar de mogelijkheid biedt om een schooljaar, semester of zomer op uitwisseling te gaan. Door in het buitenland naar een lokale High School te gaan en te wonen in een gastgezin leer je een andere cultuur kennen, een vreemde taal spreken en ontmoet je nieuwe vrienden.
