Psychology block 4: Bio/Neuro, Cognitive, Psychology and Science

Exams block 4 first year IBP

Neuro/biopsychology: The most important thing for this course is to do lots of practice questions (there are some in the book), and to learn the following in great detail: parts of the brain and their functions and the nervous system

Cognitive Psychology: Do the practice questions found on BlackBoard. Know about the learning and thinking difficulties (e.g.: different types of dyslexia), split-brain patients, models of attention, visual illusions, perception and how visual information is processed (dorsal vs ventral stream), agnosia (e.g.: form agnosia)

Psychology and Science: :Along with the theories, learn the names of the people who invented those theories too. Also, remember the order in which you learned them: e.g: Lakatos was after Kuhn. Make sure to understand how induction, deduction and venn-diagrams work. Learn the fallacies and rhetorical devices. Know what counts as a valid argument!
