The British Centre in Melilla, Spain, is a school for teaching English to children, teenagers and adults from total beginners to advanced level.

The British Centre of Melilla has been established since 1998, is British owned and has an excellent reputation within Melilla for its quality and professionalism. Their team of teachers are all (near)native speakers with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. The emphasis is on communicative methodology and cultural awareness. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards. Students work towards taking a Trinity College GESE or ISE exam for which they are fully prepared and for which the Centre has an outstanding pass rate.

Every year the British Centre in Melilla is looking for new teachers to teach English to students from 3 years old up to adults and professionals.

  • Qualifications:
    • The British Centre welcomes applicants who enjoy teaching and have both a professional attitude and the ability to work in a team.
    • (Near) native speaker with an EU passport or valid Spanish work permit
    • Degree and recognised TEFL qualification. (Get a TEFL certificate with a online TEFL Course or with TEFL in Spain)
    • Teaching experience of a wide range of levels and ages
    • Experience of teaching young learners
    • Knowledge of Trinity exams would be an advantage
    • Knowledge of the Spanish language useful but not essential
  • The contract will run from September to the end June with the possibility of renewal of contract for the following year and an option of summer camp in July. It covers 24 contact hours and 10 admin/planning.
