Vrijwilligerswerk in Nederland: wat is het, waarom zou je het doen en waar kan je het doen?
Wat is vrijwilligerswerk?
- Vrijwilligerswerk wil zeggen dan je voor bepaalde tijd bij een project of organisatie aan het werk gaat om te helpen, leren of kennis over te dragen
- Voor je werk krijg je meestal geen vergoeding in de vorm van salaris, soms is er wel sprake van een onkostenvergoeding
Wat hou je er aan over?
Waarom zou je vrijwilligerswerk gaan doen?
- Om anderen te helpen met jouw inzet en vaardigheden
- Om projecten of doelstellingen te ondersteunen die jij belangrijk vindt in je leven
- Om ervaring op te doen in je eigen werkveld, of in de sector waar je later mogelijk wil werken
- Om jezelf in een andere omgeving aan het werk te zien
- Om ook eens in ander werkgebied te kunnen werken, en te merken of dat bevalt
- Om als opstap te gebruiken voor een lokale baan met salaris
- Omdat je het niet nodig vind dat een project, extra kosten zou moeten maken voor jouw aanwezigheid terwijl ze elk dubbeltje eigenlijk hard nodig hebben
- Omdat je ook al geld hebt ingezameld voor het project of de organisatie waar je aan de slag gaat
Wat neem je mee?
Wat heb je nodig als vrijwilligerswerk wilt gaan doen?
- Flexibiliteit: enige vorm van flexibiliteit heb je al nodig, de rest doe je op tijdens je werkzaamheden.
- Communicatievermogen: afhankelijk van het soort werk zal je de de lokale taal en cultuur redelijk tot goed moeten beheersen of aanvoelen.
- Zelfstandigheid en/of zelfvertrouwen: een bepaalde vorm van zelfstandigheid heb je al nodig, en je zelfvertrouwen zal er door groeien.
- Omgevingsbewust zijn: een belangrijk element bij elk vrijwilligersproject in Nederland.
- Samenwerkingsvermogen: ook in het Nederland is het van belang dat je leert, of kunt, samenwerken als je met anderen aan het werk bent.
- Organisatiebewust zijn.
- Inlevingsvermogen.
