Dutch National Nature Work Days 2025

Green hands in the air for the National Nature Work Days 2025! Every year volunteer groups from all over the Netherlands join this national day to work in nature. Every one is invited to join: international students, expats and even tourists. Come prune, dig in the soil with your hands to plant bulbs, discover your own strength while pollarding willows or help build a sustainable branch ridge. And above all, enjoy the fresh air, meet new people and experience how nice it is to do something for nature together. No prior experience or knowledge about nature is needed to participate!

Most volunteer groups that organise a local event this day also seek volunteers that want to help out during the year, a great way to meet Dutch people 'in the wild'

The events website is in Dutch, but just scroll on the map to your favorite location and Translate (or practice your Dutch skills...). Most events will be in the morning of Saturday November 1, but some groups might choose Friday October 31.

Wekelijks naar een Hollands Eiland - aan de slag in de natuur

Woon je in de buurt van Krimpen aan de Lek en heb je zin om op vrijdagen fysieke arbeid te verrichten op een eiland in de Nieuw Maas? Zuid-Hollands Landschap heeft vanaf 2021 een nieuwe vrijwilligersgroep die wekelijks of om de week van 9 tot 3 de natuur op het eiland gaat ondersteunen. Het is noeste arbeid, afhankelijk van het seizoen maar ook van de waterstand zullen de werkzaamheden variëren. Belangrijke taken zullen zijn: snoeien, maaien en zwerfvuil verzamelen. Een cursus motorkettingzagen behoort tot de mogelijkheden. Ervaring met natuuronderhoud niet vereist. Een goede gezondheid en gezonde werkmentaliteit wel.
