Stichting Straatkinderen Medellin (Children of Medellin) organiseert sinds 2006 activiteiten voor kinderen uit achtergestelde milieus in Colombia om deze kinderen de kans te bieden om zichzelf te ontwikkelen. Focus op sport, educatie en recreatie. Vrijwilligers kunnen in Colombia onder andere aan de slag als voetbal trainer, dansles instructeur, activiteiten begeleider, docent Engels, ICT of all-round basisonderwijs

Products & Services

Begeleiding van straatkinderen

  • Stichting Straatkinderen Medellin is ontstaan naar aanleiding van een voetbalcompetitie voor kinderen uit een opvangtehuis. Elke week kwamen zij samen om te voetballen en over tijd is dit initiatief gegroeid tot een mogelijkheid om deze kinderen structurelere hulp te bieden. 
  • Door enkele voorwaarden te stellen voor deelname aan de competitie, zoals naar school gaan en zich goed gedragen in het tehuis, kon de stichting ervoor zorgen dat de kinderen van de straat bleven.
  • Inmiddels organiseert de stichting verschillende soorten activiteiten voor de kinderen waar ze aan mee kunnen doen als ze zich houden aan de voorwaarden. 
  • Zo hoopt Stichting Straatkinderen Medellin de kinderen zelfvertrouwen te geven, discipline te leren en communicatievaardigheden bij te brengen waardoor ze later makkelijker op eigen benen kunnen staan.
