Socio-economic development

• The mission of this organization is to improve the life of vulnerable families and children.
• By enhancing their educational, practical, professional and emotional skills, SrilanCare aims to help people discover their potential.
• SrilanCare works in close cooperation with its local partner, the Institute of Rural Social Development. This organization supports minorities and victimised people on a socio-economic level.

Empowering vulnerable communities

• SrilanCare runs several projects. These projects focus on improving the socio-economic position of vulnerable children and families.
• One of their projects is for example the Child Care Center. This is a center that provides shelter for girls who are victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse or who are abandoned by their parents. The center provides preparation for their future by training their creative and cultural development, practical skills and self-esteem.
• Another example of a project is the Empowerment Center. This center is focussed on empowering girls and women by improving their life-skills, providing vocational training and offering cultural programmes to enable them to lead an independent life.
• SriLanCare also runs several hygiene projects that aim to provide toilet- and washing facilities in the areas that are in need of these.
