Kuwait: Updates & Travel

Travel in Kuwait?

  • Kuwait is a country with a bizarre mix between Western liberalism, oil capitalism and conservative Islam. Consequently, Kuwait City has mosques and skyscrapers side by side. The country is struggling with its neighbors, especially Iran. Besides Kuwait City and ports with large oil tankers, Kuwait does not really have that much to offer the traveler.

Updates Kuwait

  • Kuwait has very strict laws against the consumption, sale, and preparation of alcohol. This applies to both locals and foreigners, and it is not possible to legally purchase alcohol or bring it into the country. On and off, the checks are more regular. It is punishable by (high) fines, (severe) imprisonment, deportation, and confiscation of your driver's license.
  • Follow the rules, not to get in trouble, do not use, possess, or sell alcohol or drugs. This also applies to soft drugs.
