In addition to Tamil and Sanskrit, several other languages are taught at this school to students from all over the world. Language learning at this school is combined with Auroville's humanistic ideology and the Alfred Tomatis method (focused on hearing and auditory processing).
The language school is located in Auroville, in the province of Tamil Nadu. Auroville is situated on the southeast coast of India, approximately 150 km south of Chennai and 10 km north of Pondicherry. Auroville is an international community based on the ideas of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, Mirra Alfassa. Its aim is, among other things, to realize human unity. People from all countries and peoples, regardless of religious or political persuasion, can live together here and create a world on a small scale, where conscious efforts are also made to promote the spiritual evolution of humanity.
Auroville Guest Service offers courses in a wide variety of areas, including yoga classes, theater, dance, and photography exhibitions, as well as lectures, health weekends, tours of surrounding villages and towns, and a variety of other initiatives. Auroville guests can generally participate in these activities for free or for a small fee upon presentation of their guest card. Some long-term courses may charge a higher fee, but prices remain modest by Dutch standards.
An affinity with Auroville's philosophy and unique teaching methods is a valuable asset if you plan to stay here for an extended period.
