Sapphawitthaykhom School is de grootste school in de provincie Tak met ruim 2800 studenten, met een internationaal programma.
De school bestaat al sinds 1915 en ligt in het noordwesten van Thailand, aan de grens met Myanmar.
De vakken binnen het internationale programma worden in het Engels gegeven. De grootte van de klassen is ca. 15 - 25 studenten.

De school is vaak op zoek naar nieuwe leraren, meestal aan de start van het nieuwe schooljaar (rond eind mei), maar ook wel op andere momenten. Er worden zowel native English speaking teachers als non native speaking teachers aagenomen. Zolang het Engelse accent goed is, is het geen probleem als de moedertaal van de docent niet Engels is.
Een teaching degree is niet per se vereist, wel een bachelor degree, affiniteit met lesgeven en de juiste achtergrond, afhankelijk van het vak waarin je zult lesgeven. Een TEFL-certificaat vegroot bovendien je kansen op acceptatie. Houd er rekening mee dat de communicatie met Thaise studenten soms lastig kan zijn.

VACATURE:

De school is elk jaar op zoek naar nieuwe docenten. Het nieuwe schooljaar start eind mei/begin juni, maar soms zijn er ook op andere momenten nieuwe leraren nodig.

Werkzaamheden:

Je zult lesgeven binnen het internationale programma.
De vakken worden in het Engels gegeven.
Er zijn docenten nodig voor de vakken Engels, scheikunde, natuurkunde, wiskunde en social studies (aardrijkskunde, maatschappijleer, politiek en economie).
Periode: half jaar tot een jaar, met kans op verlenging

Voorwaarden:

Sollicitanten moeten in het bezit zijn van minimaal een bachelor diploma.
In het bezit zijn van een TEFL-certificaat (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) vergroot de kans op acceptatie.
Affiniteit met lesgeven is belangrijk, maar specifieke lesgeefervaring is geen vereiste.

Voordelen:

Het salaris bedraagt 30.000 Baht. Dit ruim voldoende om in Thailand te leven
De stad is een mooie springplank naar een aantal natuurgebieden en heeft zelf ook veel te bieden.
Uitgelezen manier om het echte Thaise leven mee te maken en je toch te begeven in een internationale omgeving.
Werkvisa en werkvergunningskosten worden na een jaar vergoed.
Assistentie met het verkrijgen van de benodigde documenten wordt door de school verleend.
Er zijn ruim 50 betaalde vakantiedagen (inclusief feest- en publieke dagen verspreid over het hele jaar).
Vaak worden schoolreisjes georganiseerd naar andere delen van Thailand.
