RDW

RDW is the Dutch vehicle authority responsible for tasks related to vehicles, driving licences and road transport. The organisation registers vehicles and vehicle owners, issues vehicle documents and monitors vehicle safety and environmental standards.

RDW also provides information and services for individuals, companies and government organisations. If you are moving to or from the Netherlands, buying or importing a vehicle, or need information about driving licences and vehicle registration, RDW can help you with the relevant procedures.

Omwisselen van rijbewijs

Binnen de EU of EVA-landen moet het Nederlandse rijbewijs omgewisseld worden. Het is mogelijk om bij RDW een echtheidsverklaring aan te vragen. In een echtheidsverklaring staat een overzicht van de gegevens op je rijbewijs en je registratie in het Centraal Rijbewijzenregister.

Buiten de EU moet er een nieuw rijbewijs aangevraagd worden, dit kan gewoon per e-mail.

Als een voertuig met een Nederlands kenteken in het buitenland blijft, dan dient de registratie bij RDW te worden stopgezet. Dit kan gewoon schriftelijk door een ondertekend verzoek in te dienen. Hier zijn specifieke documenten voor nodig. Een overzicht van de benodigde documenten zijn te vinden op de website van RDW.
