Quetzaltrekkers

Quetzaltrekkers organizes hikes and walking tours under the motto "Hike Volcanoes, Help Kids" in Guatemala. The social projects they support are run by EDELAC. The hiking guides are all volunteers, and the proceeds from the tours go to the children of Guatemala.

Quetzaltrekkers organiseert hikes en wandeltochten onder het motto 'Hike Volcanoes, Help Kids' in Guatemala. De sociale projecten die zij steunen worden gerund door EDELAC (Asociación Escuela de la Calle). De wandelgidsen zijn allen vrijwilligers en de opbrengst van de tochten gaan naar de kinderen van Guatemala.

Doorlopend worden nieuwe internationale vrijwilligers geworven en opgeleid tot bergwandelgids.

Verantwoord reizen

  • Responsible Travel is een reisorganisatie die verschillende soorten vakanties aanbiedt, van vrijwilligerswerk en duikvakanties tot wandel- en korte vakanties.
  • Bij elk soort reis wordt je in contact gebracht met de lokale bevolking, het landschap, het eten, het milieu en de cultuur.
  • Het is ook mogelijk om een reis te combineren met vrijwilligerswerk. Er zijn zowel familieprojecten, projecten waar je met een groep aan de slag kunt of projecten waar je als individu aan mee kunt doen.

Internships

  • Responsible Travel biedt stageplekken aan. De voorkeur wordt daarbij wel gegeven aan studenten van lokale universiteiten of scholen. 

Volunteering

  • Voor zover bij JoHo bekend zijn er nog geen mogelijkheden voor vrijwilligerswerk bij de organisatie zelf.
