Stichting Youth in Nepal

De Stichting Youth in Nepal werd opgericht in juli 2005. Doel was het oprichten en onderhouden van een huis voor oorlogsgetroffen kinderen. Dat zijn kinderen die hun vader of moeder zijn verloren in de afgelopen burgeroorlog in Nepal en waarvan de overgebleven vader of moeder niet goed meer voor zijn of haar kinderen kan zorgen. Het huis werd in oktober 2007 geopend door de voorzitter van het Nepalese Parlement, de heer Subas Nembang. Dertig kinderen vinden hier hun thuis en volgen onderwijs in een nabijgelegen school. Het huis heeft een staf van zeven toegewijde medewerkers, vaak bijgestaan door Nederlandse vrijwilligers. Het werk van de staf van het kinderhuis is voor 30 jonge kinderen veelomvattend en intensief. Nederlandse vrijwilligers die daarbij willen helpen, zijn van harte welkom.

Het is onduidelijk of deze stichting nog actief is, echter de lokale Nepalese organisatie Shreejana Development Center is momenteel wel actief. De website staat vermeld bij de contactgegevens.
