Het Vista Project

Deze internationale NGO komt in Tibet op voor de sociale, economische en culturele belangen van de Tibetanen in de buurt van Sershul (op 4200 m hoogte, in het oosten van Tibet, op 1.000 km van Chengdu). Meer dan 75% van de jongeren zijn ongeschoold, ze leven vaak in barre omstandigheden.
Door middel van diverse trainingen verhogen ze hun kansen binnen de maatschappij. Bij het Vista Project zijn ook tours en accommodatie te boeken.

Vrijwilligerswerkmogelijkheden variëren. Vaak zijn er mogelijkheden om:

  • Engelse les te geven aan kinderen tussen 6 en 14 jaar
  • Loodgieterswerkzaamheden te verrichten in hotel en restaurant
  • Tuinbouwkundige kennis voor groentenkas te delen

Hou er rekening mee dat werkzaamheden alleen in de zomermaanden mogelijk zijn i.v.m. de ligging op grote hoogte (4200 meter), en dat de faciliteiten erg basic zijn.
