United Nations - Verenigde Naties

The United Nations (UN) is an international development organization offering challenging roles in humanitarian projects across developing countries. Specific job requirements can be found in the individual vacancy listings on their website. Generally speaking, the UN’s requirements are very high, and securing a position is difficult. For international projects, there is an increasing tendency to prioritize the recruitment of local personnel before international candidates are considered.

The United Nations operates worldwide. UN employees hold roles ranging from landmine clearance specialist to secretary-general. The organization employs staff globally in fields such as administration, economics, finance, statistics, public information, language education and research, electronic data processing, and legal affairs. Another area of employment within the UN involves the peacekeeping missions it carries out around the world. These missions create a significant demand for civilian personnel; international lawyers, doctors, engineers, educators, managers, and sociologists—as well as drivers and mechanics—are needed for multi-year assignments.
