Most opportunities for personal development within Greenpeace can be found through volunteer roles. Greenpeace has a large volunteer network involved in actions ranging from writing letters to chaining themselves to railway tracks or joining Greenpeace ships at sea.
Volunteers are an essential part of Greenpeace. In the Netherlands alone, the organization has more than 2,000 active volunteers. All volunteers are connected through an online community called Green Wire, where actions are planned, ideas are exchanged, and calls for participation are shared. As a volunteer, you can join Greenpeace actions, start your own action group, or sail on a Greenpeace ship.
