A hostel to relax

Fat Cat Kampala offers a variety of rooms: from shared dorms to private double and triple rooms. All beds have a mosquito net and free breakfast is included.
The hostel aims to create a relaxed environment for guests. Fat Cat has a rooftop terrace where guests can enjoy a sunset view or get a drink at the bar.
In addition, the hostel focuses on embracing equality, pollution and culture among their guests through street art, upcycled art, inspiring quotes and wisdoms and different workshops and events promoting Ugandan culture. An example of one of those events is Roots, this is a storytelling event about the history, legends and folklore of Uganda
Although Fat Cat started as being a primarily tourist hostel, it has slowly shifted its attention to building stronger relationships with NGOs, government programs and development organizations working in Uganda and East Africa.

Op zaterdag 28 december zijn we om 7 uur vanaf school vertrokken richting Schiphol. Nadat we op schiphol onze bagage ingecheckt hadden en afscheid hadden genomen van onze familie, zijn we vertrokken naar Uganda. Eerst vlogen we vanaf schiphol naar Istanbul, dat vliegtuig was klein en ik met mn ander...

Na afgelopen week erg veel indrukken opgedaan te hebben, moesten we vandaag om half 6 opstaan voor een lekker weekendje aan Lake Bunyoni. Na alle tenten ingepakt te hebben, werden we verwend met heerlijke pannenkoeken. Drie kwartier later dan gepland (lekker op zijn Ugandees) vertrokken we dan einde...

's Ochtends moesten we weer lekker vroeg uit de veren. Om half 7 was het tijd om op te staan en de tenten op te ruimen. Na het ontbijt vertrokken we om half 9 richting de school, die Didas opgezet en gebouwd had voor de sponsorde weeskinderen. De school gaat binnenkort open en de kinderen krijgen da...

Op zaterdag zijn we wederom weer vroeg opgestaan om vervolgens de tenten in te pakken. Toen hebben we snel ontbeten en zijn we alweer vertrokken naar Lake Bunyonyi. Vandaag zijn we om 7 uur vanaf school vertrokken. Eenmaal op Schiphol aangekomen hadden we nog tijd om afscheid te nemen. Later vertrokken we met het vliegtuig naar Istanbul.
