Help & Inspire

  • De organisatie El Arbol heeft in haar missie drie waarden centraal staan: compassie, gelijkwaardigheid en zorg voor de aarde.
  • Samen met lokale partijen ontwikkelt, ondersteunt en financieert El Arbol projecten die bijdragen aan minder armoede.
    gelijke rechten voor vrouwen, een beter milieu en meer duurzaamheid in de samenleving in Nicaragua.

Products & Services CV

Projecten

Samen met lokale partijen voert El Arbol verschillende projecten uit in Nicaragua, waaronder:

  • Het maken van een botanische tuin in het dorp El Limonal voor het beschermen van plantensoorten en voor educatieve doeleinden.
  • Wekelijks koken van voedzame en gezonde maaltijden voor een groep ondervoedde kinderen uit verschillende wijken in de stad Corinto.
  • Het werkgelegenheidsproject het meubel- en timmerbedrijf ‘Los Laureles’ in Chinandega.
  • Het geven van computerlessen aan kansarme meisjes om te voorkomen dat de meisjes in de prostitutie terecht komen of op straat zwerven
    en op heel jonge leeftijd kinderen krijgen.
  • Het "bomen-kweek-plant" project: het opbouwen van een boomkwekerij met basisschool leerlingen in het dorpje San Benito.

  • Zover bij JoHo bekend zijn er (nog) geen mogelijkheden voor betaald werk bij El Arbol.

Internships

  • Er zijn regelmatig stagemogelijkheden bij een van de projecten in Nicaragua. Je kunt onderzoek doen, bijvoorbeeld het gebied van milieu of onderwijs. Zie de website voor meer informatie en vul het contactformulier in bij interesse.

Vrijwilligerswerk

  • In Nicaragua is het mogelijk vrijwilligerswerk te doen bij een van de projecten, waaronder meewerken binnen de lokale meubelmakerij of het aanpassen van een vrouwenhuis om het zo ook toegankelijk te maken voor gehandicapte vrouwen. 
  • Het is ook mogelijk om in Nederland El Arbol met vrijwilligerswerk te steunen, zoals met het maken van vertalingen en het doen van fondsenwerving voor verschillende projecten.
