interview met een lokale leeftijdsgenoot uit Cambodja

I interviewed Daney my friend in Cambodia. She is 19 years old and goes to a Cambodian university. She has studies English for 12 years. That is really exceptional because most children start studying English when they are 12. Studying English means you go 1 hour a day to school for English.

When the interview started I was a little bit nervous. Daney was also a little bit nervous so we could help each other.  It was still exciting.

  1. What is your name? -> My name is Daney.
  2. How old are you? -> I am 19  years old.
  3. Where do you live? -> I live in Kep, that’s a little village near to Kampot.
  4. What does your house looks like? -> I like in a little wooden shed with my parents brothers and all the animals.
  5. What kind of work do you want to do later when you graduate? -> I want to be a teacher so I can teach all the pour people in Kep.
  6. Are all the kids in Kep going to school? -> No, only when you can pay for classes you can go to school.
  7. So when your parents haven’t got any money you can’t go to school? -> Yes, that’s unfortunately right.
  8. Is going to school expensive? -> Yes it is. And parents also get the problem that the children go to school so they can’t work at the rice fields so you miss income and you have to pay for classes.
