MiCare (formerly DutchCare) is an organization in Australia that, among other things, helps Dutch elderly people lead comfortable, meaningful, and fulfilling lives. It is a non-profit organization with several locations across Australia.

JoHo WorldSupporter mission and vision:

JoHo concept:

As a JoHo donor, member or insured, you provide support to the JoHo objectives. JoHo then supports you with tools, coaching and benefits in the areas of personal development and international activities.
JoHo's core services include: study support, competence development, coaching and insurance mediation when departure abroad.

Products & Services CV

MiCare biedt ouderenzorg aan, aan onder andere nederlandse ouderen die wonen in Australië. De missie is om ouderen in staat te stellen om een comfortabel, prettig, waardig en zinvol leven te leiden. MiCare doet dit door zorg te bieden aan ouderen bij hun thuis of in een zorgtehuis. Ze hebben drie verschillende opties voor ouderen om te wonen en per optie zit een bepaalde level van zorg aan.

Zelfstandig wonen

MiCare heeft verschillende 'dorpen' geplaatst in Australië. Hierin is er de mogelijkheid voor ouderen om zelfstandig te wonen, maar toch in een veilige en comfortabele omgeving. De woningen zijn verschillend, maar over het algemeen hebben ze 1 á 2 slaapkamers, sommigen hebben een eigen tuin en parkeerplaats.
De ouderen kunnen in de gezamenlijke ruimte activiteiten doen en het wordt gebruikt voor evenementen. Schoonmaak en tuinwerk wordt gedaan door het personeel. In totaal hebben ze drie verschillende 'dorpen', de Beatrix Village, Margriet Village en Avondrust Village, die in het zuiden van Australië omstreken Melbourne geplaatst zijn.

Thuiszorg

Sommige ouderen willen liever in hun eigen huis blijven wonen, maar ze hebben er wel hulp bij nodig. Daarvoor biedt de overheid thuiszorg aan, zodat die mensen zo lang mogelijk thuis kunnen blijven wonen. MiCare verzorgt de hulp.

Zorghuis

Naast de vorige opties is er ook nog de mogelijkheid om in een zorghuis te gaan wonen. In een zorghuis wonen meerdere ouderen samen en delen ze een woonkamer. Hierbij is er extra veel zorg en de mogelijk voor 24 uur hulp voor de ouderen.

Work & Internship CV

Sinds MiCare een non-profit organisatie is, hebben ze veel hulp aan enthousiaste vrijwilligers. Daarnaast is er ook een mogelijkheid om er te komen werken.

Jobs

Zoals genoemd is er de mogelijkheid om voor MiCare te werken. Het is een optie om een open sollicitatie te sturen; stuur een e-mail of vul het aanmeldingsformulier in.

Internship

Voor zover bekend bij JoHo zijn er (nog) geen mogelijkheden om stage te lopen bij MiCare.

Volunteering

MiCare is altijd op zoek naar vrijwilligers. Het aantal dagen of uren, hangt af van jouw interesse. Voor meer informatie zie de website.
