Wanicare Foundation

The Wanicare Foundation was founded by a Dutch woman with the mission of supporting Wild Animal Rescue Centers in improving the welfare of wild animals, particularly primates in Indonesia. The foundation also works to prevent wildlife trafficking and to return animals to their natural habitats.

Some of the animals that are regularly taken into care or studied as part of their projects include otters, gibbons, slow lorises, cassowaries, and hornbills.

Through its own project focused on organic, sustainable agriculture and agroforestry, the Wanicare Foundation aims to provide the animals in its care with food that is grown locally by the foundation itself.
