Thompson Rivers University (TRU) (Kamloops)

This educational institution, similar to an HBO/MBO institution in the Netherlands, focuses not only on theoretical knowledge but also allows you to gain hands-on practical experience. For example, at the 'Adventure, Culinary Arts and Tourism' faculty, you can receive training in adventure sports such as whitewater kayaking or rescue work, learn how to start your own tourism business, or train to become a chef. Additionally, they offer programs for nursing, teaching, social work (pedagogical assistance), and childcare.

Due to its location in the interior of Canada, you experience the 'real' Canada full of nature and have the opportunity to get acquainted with various Indigenous cultures.
