Er was een tegendemonstratie georganiseerd door tegenstanders van de CD. De gemeente heeft de demonstratie verboden uit angst voor ernstige problemen, aangezien de gemeente over te weinig politiepersoneel kon beschikken.

De Hoge Raad heeft deze verbodactie op deze gronden goedgekeurd. De dreiging alléén van een tegendemonstratie is niet voldoende om een demonstratie te verbieden.
