JoHo WorldSupporter mission and vision:

JoHo wants to enable people and organizations to develop and work better together, and thereby contribute to a tolerant and sustainable world. Through physical and online platforms, it supports personal development and promote international cooperation is encouraged.

JoHo concept:

As a JoHo donor, member or insured, you provide support to the JoHo objectives. JoHo then supports you with tools, coaching and benefits in the areas of personal development and international activities.
JoHo's core services include: study support, competence development, coaching and insurance mediation when departure abroad.

Veel jongeren in Gambia denken dat zij meer toekomstperspectief hebben in Europa en ondernemen de gevaarlijke reis hiernaartoe. Future For Young People (FFYP) is een organisatie die kinderen en jongeren een toekomst wil bieden in Gambia. Dit doen ze op verschillende manieren:

Via het Cultural Life Center wil FFYP via educatieve workshops talentvolle jongeren de kans bieden hun passie uit te oefenen en men bewust wordt van de betekenis van de unieke West-Afrikaanse cultuur.
FFYP ondersteunt verschillende scholen met geld en goederen. Daarnaast zoekt de organisatie sponsors die het lesgeld betalen voor leerlingen.
Mensen met een lichamelijke of verstandelijke beperking worden in Gambia meestal niet als volwaardig mens gezien. FFYP probeert hen kansen te bieden op een zorgboerderij in Tanji.
In het Youth en Community center in Tanji is er onder meer een bibliotheek met duizenden Engelstalige boeken, een internetcafé, een grote zaal met podium voor culturele activiteiten en een timmerwerkplaats waar jongeren een vak kunnen leren.

Vrijwilligerswerk en stages

Future For Young People (FFYP) is een kleine organisatie die sinds 2007 actief is. In de afgelopen jaren heeft FFYP veel kennis opgedaan van de locaties en de omstandigheden in Gambia. Je kunt bij FFYP zowel stage lopen als vrijwilligerswerk doen.
Er zijn verschillende projecten waar je als vrijwilliger aan de slag kunt gaan. Als vrijwilliger verblijf je tegen kost en inwoning bij een lokale familie.
Je kunt stage lopen binnen uiteenlopende projecten: van een ziekenhuisproject tot een onderwijs- of sportproject. Tijdens je stage word je intensief begeleid door een Nederlander die ook in Gambia verblijft. Niet alleen in Gambia, maar ook tijdens de voorbereidingstijd in Nederland, krijg je begeleiding van FFYP.
