Cango Wildlife Ranch is een ranch / dierentuin in Zuid Afrika gericht op bescherming van en educatie rond bedreigde diersoorten. Jachtluipaarden (cheetah) zijn een belangrijke focussoort voor ze.

Behoud van diersoorten

  • Cango Wildlife Ranch heeft als doel veel soorten in Zuid-Afrika te beschermen en te behouden, van cheeta's tot slangen en vleermuizen tot schildpadden.
  • De ranch neemt gewonde dieren op, verzorgt ze en laat ze indien mogelijk weer vrij in het wild.
  • Cango fokt ook dieren die met uitsterven worden bedreigd, in een poging de soort te redden.
  • Voor sommige dieren is het niet mogelijk om ze in het wild vrij te laten vanwege de vernietiging van hun leefgebied. De ranch verzorgt deze dieren en kweekt ze in gevangenschap.
  • Een andere missie van Cango Wildlife Ranch is het vergroten van het bewustzijn voor het belang van diversiteit in wilde dieren. Het is mogelijk om de ranch te bezichtigen en meer te leren over hun missie en dieren.
