If you see how much food we Dennis contributed on 09-10-2013 10:00
If you see how much food we're wasting, it's a shame it's not distributed more evenly. I acually saw a cart full of old break being fed to the seagulls on my way to work. A whole cart! That said, it's good to see a lot of people working on this. Did you ever hear of Norman Borlaug? Man came up with wheats that weren't effected by disease and doubled their output. Literally doubling the amount of wheat India and Pakistan got. The man saved over a billion lives (1/6th the earth's population) and hardly anyone knows his name. Never the less, even with his great invention, the world goes hungry. We can't all be Norman, but atleast we can undertake steps to help.

definitely true, and as a trendwatcher to be, it's good to see all these initiatives ricing.
The trend we see coming up nowadays is dumpster-ing. Literally grabbing food out of dumpsters, because supermarkets throw away so much food, it is just awful.
We are all searching for new solutions, for example with cultivated meat, insects that turn in to food! And with this exponential growth of people it's necessary we come with solutions.
I'm becoming motivated by these :P We just gotta wait till we can grow our own meat 0.0 then we'll have plenty of food. :P And probably a lot of horror movies about it!
Dumpster-ing doesn't even sound that strange anymore. I remember reading about this restaurant, that didn't allow homeless to eat the left-over food, but instead throw it straight into the dumpster!!
We live in such a STRANGE woooooorld!!

We do live in a strange world, especially the companies who are talking about sustainability on one side and throw food in the dumpster on the otherside!

There are some good documentaries about the latest developments about this trend,
you should watch Tegenlicht - De mens van nu or De week van Filemon.
