Youth for Understanding (YFU)

Youth for Understanding (YFU) is een grotendeels non-profit organisatie die jongeren al 70  jaar de mogelijkheid biedt om een schooljaar, semester of zomer op uitwisseling te gaan. Door in het buitenland naar een lokale High School te gaan en te wonen in een gastgezin leer je een andere cultuur kennen, een vreemde taal spreken en ontmoet je nieuwe vrienden. Er worden momenteel uitwisselingsprogramma's aangeboden voor jongeren tussen de 14 en 19 jaar oud.

JoHo WorldSupporter mission and vision:

  • JoHo wants to enable people and organizations to develop and work better together, and thereby contribute to a tolerant tolerant and sustainable world. Through physical and online platforms, it support personal development and promote international cooperation is encouraged.

JoHo concept:

  • As a JoHo donor, member or insured, you provide support to the JoHo objectives. JoHo then supports you with tools, coaching and benefits in the areas of personal development and international activities.
  • JoHo's core services include: study support, competence development, coaching and insurance mediation when departure abroad.

Help & Inspire

  • Door het aanbieden van wereldwijde educatieve uitwisselingen voor jongeren, families en gemeenschappen stimuleert YFU intercultureel begrip, wederzijds respect en social responsibility.

Travel & cooperate

  • YFU bestaat uit een internationaal netwerk van onafhankelijke, nationale YFU organisaties in meer dan 50 landen.
  • De uitwisselingsprogramma's komen tot stand door direct contact tussen de nationale organisaties.

Learning & Developing Talent

  • Door het aanbieden van wereldwijde uitwisselingsprogramma's worden jongeren in de gelegenheid gesteld om zich te ontwikkelen door te leven en leren in een andere cultuur.
  • Ook worden er speciale programma's aangeboden die aansluiten bij de interesses en talenten van jongeren.
  • YFU organiseert diverse bijeenkomsten en workshops voor vrijwilligers en gastgezinnen
