Interview met leeftijdsgenoot. (A=Auke; G=George)
A:Hey, how're you?
G: Fine, and you?
A: Fine, fine. What is your name?
G: George. What is your name?
A: My name is Auke, it's really difficult to pronounce, I know. Is it OK if I write this down, so I can remember it later on?
G: Yeah, sure.
A: I've seen a lot of kids working the past few days. What is it that allows you to go to school instead of having to work on the land?
G: Hmm, we have holiday too, but indeed, a lot of children have to work instead of being able to go to school. My family is rich, compared to the other locals. My brothers and sister go to school too. It's something we value as family. I feel very lucky that I am able to go to school.
A: Ah, I see. How do you see your future?
G: Hmm, what do you mean?
A: Well, how do you see your life in 10 or 20 years?
G: I hope I have finished school and a study. I don't know which study yet, but I hope I can get enough money to have a happy family.
A: That is indeed very nice. Hmm, do you play any sports?
G: No, I spend most of my time studying at home. I would love to play basketball, but my parents say I should focus on school and studying more than sports.
A: They value education over sports I see. Thank you very much. I might see you around a bit later, and if not; Best wishes and good luck. Cya!
