Camphill

Camphill has several communities in Canada and the United States where people with intellectual disabilities can live and learn. They view an intellectual disability as a signal to adapt someone’s working methods, not their goals. Based on this perspective, they provide guidance and support for their residents. Some of the communities also manage a (large) vegetable garden using biodynamic farming methods.

Volunteering

  • There is an opportunity to help care for residents with disabilities at Camphill in exchange for accommodation and meals.

  • Vacancies are listed on the website. You can apply by creating an account and following the online application procedure. JoHo can also assist you with advice on travel equipment and arranging travel insurance that covers you during working hours.
