How to eat your way around the world?
- This is a list of (my) favorite and strange food and specialties per country (I ate, and I still want to eat). I added the favorite food of my friends in this list.
- During corona time, we took a map of the world and with a blindfold on pinned a country. In that weekend, we would pretend to be abroad, eat and drink the food of that country and watch a movie of that country. It doesn't have to be corona time to be at home and feel far away. Enjoy...
- When you eat the local specialties of a country, you can really immerse in a culture. The locals will appreciate it very much when you like to try the food from their country.
- Some food which are on this list I do not want to try ever. I think I will throw up with having a full bowl of Kenyan rat soup or curry made of bat in front of me. I think only the sight of the food will make me nauseated. But perhaps when the real bowl is in front of me, I am curious, and I really want to try it.
- In general be careful, what you eat and where you eat. You can get really sick, and food poisoning can ruin your trip. The best is to find a place to eat, where there are more people during local time for breakfast, lunch of dinner.
- The strangest thing I drank in China was a shot of snake blood (after the snake was killed in front of me).
- The strangest thing I ate was crocodile in the Philippines.
