Travel & Move:
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow mindedness"- Mark Twain. Travelling broadens your perspective and makes you more empathic towards other people and the world around you.
However, I also think that you don't have to go to the other side of the world to have these benefits, as it is more in the way you travel than where you go.
Experience & Leisure:
I think contributing to the world does not have to be difficult. Small changes in your daily actions can have a direct impact as well.
For example, use re-usable bags instead of plastic or be mindful about the organisations that you support by using their products.
Learn & Develop:
Doing a bachelor in International Studies has taught me that everyone has his own worldview and is therefore biased in some way.
But if you're aware of that, you're able to put your own worldview in perspective and realise that you can't judge someone else's experience.
Help & Change:
My first experience with volunteer work was in Thailand where I volunteered at a school. I helped the teachers with English lessons and practiced speaking English with the children.
I also use WorldSupporter to get inspired and share my own tips and thoughts.
Work & Initiate:
I work at a non-profit organisation
