Spoedeisend betekent acuut, brandend, dringend, klemmend, presserend, pressant, urgentie en urgent. Je hebt bij spoedeisende zorg niet veel tijd om na te denken. Acute spoedeisende zorg:
Alle zorg die niet kan wachten tot eerstvolgende mogelijkheid op werkdagen om de huisarts of hulpverlener te raadplegen.
Een door de zorgvrager en/of zorgverlener ervaren onvoorziene en onmiddellijke behoefte aan diagnostiek en behandeling.
Zorg in situaties waarin zonder acuut ingrijpen gevaar is voor overlijden of irreversibele gezondheidsschade.
